Service Description
The youth of today are building their wings to fly us to the future. There's no doubt that these amazingly talented and creative people will be running hotels in outer space someday and the older generation will no longer be in leadership but we will be their guests! Today, is the older generation of leadership helping them build strong wings, are we even listening to what their wings need? This project-challenge based collaborative program will connect the older generation with the younger and everyone will rise from the experience. Voices will be heard, knowledge will be shared and a support system will be formed. The founding members and coaches of Hospiamo have extensive experience in the hospitality industry, having inspected, owned, operated, bought, sold, marketed to guests, and completed due diligence and evaluations for over 1,000 hotels. The projects that trainees will engage in is based on Hospiamo’s 5 Tenets of assessing the health of a hotel: Market, Building, People, Financials, and Overall Risk. Our first program will focus on the Market, which is a key aspect (and the most attractive, fun and collaborative) in evaluating a hotel's performance and its relationship with the surrounding community. The program starts with group learning, engaging the fundamentals of critical and entrepreneurial thinking and leadership techniques in the hospitality business. The project is to develop multiple independent SWOT Analyses, short for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. SWOT analysis is a widely used strategic tool across many industries, including healthcare, retail, manufacturing, and technology. In the hospitality industry, however, Hospiamo has recognized that SWOT analysis is often undervalued and misunderstood in hospitality, despite its potential to inform crucial decision-making, evaluate market trends, and drive impact and innovation. Our project teams will become adept at conducting SWOT analyses and honing their skills in interviewing, presenting, and executing ideas. Through this process, they will gain the confidence, self-awareness and expertise needed to become successful hospitality leaders, capable of tackling complex challenges and creating transformative impact in any industry. Group members and coaches will tour each hotel, explore the market, conduct 30-minute interviews with the General Manager, as well as representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Authority, and a top employer.
